Burning Rubber @ 60!

Here is my awesomely awesome dad at the dragstrip. His car is the 78' Chevy Malibu (for those who don't know cars...its the orange one). My dad may be 60yrs young but he can still go fast. 6.51 seconds in less than 1/8 mile. Which would be 10.52 seconds in 1/4 mile.

Pumpkin Carving

Last night we decided to do some pumpkin carving. Since I found it necessary to buy 6 pumpkins, we thought we might need some help from the Reids. Here is Tyrel coaching "The Boys" in proper carving technique. Caden was more interested in holding the train light (he gave it that name) and the 2 little ones were fighting over which marker to use to color their special pumpkin. Then there is Kara carving a pumpkin for the first time. Caden was so funny, he kept coming over to me asking, "How am I doing on my pumpkin?" when it was me or Kara carving it for him.

Now for the finished products...

Tyrel carved a buck (of course), I carved a cross/Jesus fish, and for "The Boys" Thomas the Train (which looks a little like Mickey Mouse, or Arthur)

Baby Signs(R)

As some of you already know, I am an Independent Certified Instructor for the Baby Signs(R) Program. Well last Saturday, I participated in the Rally Round the Children. This was my first time every having a booth set up for an event like this. It was exciting but also nerve racking at the same time. Overall it went pretty well.

Fall-a-Days

It was a nice fall day so we decided to take some pictures.

Playin Trains

Graydon is finally playing with his trains on his playmat. We are so excited. Maybe for Christmas Santa will bring him some real tracts to set up.

Our Little One

After browsing around on other blogs, it was brought to my attention that yesterday was National Day of Remembrance for pregnancy and infant loss. Thank you Kara so much for posting and more importantly praying for those who have suffered such a loss. As some of you already know, Tyrel and I miscarried a precious baby in March of this year. After giving birth to an amazing son and watching him grow into such a handsome and gifted little boy, we truely know what we are missing. Thinking back to the day when the doctor said we were going to lose our baby reminds me of the many emotions I felt, fear, anger, sorrow, disappointment, guilt. But something I read today proves true to this time in my life, "The will of God won't take you where the grace of God won't save you.". My heart has never hurt so bad then when we lost our baby but now I can say that my heart has never felt so much PEACE about losing our baby. Don't get me wrong, I still have days when I cry my eyes out, but I know our sweet baby is with God. I wish so much that I could be holding my baby in my arms but God felt he needed to hold to him/her more. I can't argue with God, I just have to have faith that our family will be reunited one glorious day and that my wish to hold my baby will come true. With the due date of our baby approaching fast (Nov.3) I look back at what has happened in the past nine months. Ty and I have grown in our faith and for the first time listening to what it is God is calling us to do (which we are so psyched about). Graydon is growing and changing so fast. All three of us have found amazing friends with whom we consider family, who love us and befriend us wherever we are in life. Our family has been extended with a wedding and the birth of our first nephew Asher. My parents have moved closer which is a God thing really, only being 6 1/2 hours away now. And I HAVE been blessed with the birth of a child of God. Cole Jackson Reid. I was with Kara in the hospital waiting for his arrival and so excited when I saw him for the first time. I saw the grace of God shining on his face that day and I knew that I would be okay. I knew that God would heal this broken heart of mine and I am reminded of that everytime I look at him. So to those of you have lost or know of those who have lost a child, please pray for their hearts, minds, families, and friends.

Exciting Update

Movin' on up to a big boy bed! Last night Graydon slept in his toddler bed. Daddy put him to bed around 8:30pm and he slept until 5:30am. I went in and gave him his binky and covered him back up and he slept until 7:30am. Now I know its not going to always be this easy, he hasn't yet figured out how to get off his bed!

Puddle Hopping

These were taken a few days ago. Graydon has discovered how much fun it is to splash around in puddles. I love it!

Hide and Seek

So the other night I made sausage and onion rings for dinner. Tyrel and I thought it was a pretty tasty meal and it seemed as though Graydon liked it also. Or so we thought. This is what I found when I went to clean his plate and chair.

Here it looks like he ate very well.

But the turkey was stuffing his food in his chair.

Here you can see the sausage in the little holes of his chair!

Little Reid Boys

I had the pleasure of watching the two littlest Reid boys the other day. I couldn't help but snap some shots of them playing.

Ty's New Truck

Tyrel finally got his new work truck. It is so nice especially compared to his last truck. Here a few pics.

Playlist

I updated my playlist at the bottom of the page. The songs really tell the story of my previous post, how I was living, how God opened my eyes, my new plan, and my hopes for the future. Please Please Please check it out.

James 2:26 & Ephesians 2:10

So as some of you know I have been a christian for about 10 yrs now. You would think I would have this "living for Christ" thing down pack by now but I don't. I believe that God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins so I could spend eternity with them both one glorious day. Well big man upstairs has been convicting me and really opening my eyes. I have been relying on my faith to save me. But that is only part of the equation. James 2:26 says,"As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.". Where are my deeds? I hear you God, I hear you!! I have been stuck in a rut of my normal routine that invovles alot of time spent at church, but thats the problem, it has become routine. So after many sleepless nights (I think God was waking Graydon up on purpose so I wouldn't sleep- all part of His plan) thinking about all of this, I have decided to dedicate my time to missions. From now on I will be coordinating our Sunday School mission projects. With the help of my amazing husband and other .com members, we plan to reach out to our community and bridge the gap between those who believe in Christ Jesus and those who don't. Some of you may be thinking its a big task but give me a little credit, I've got God in my corner rooting for me rooting for Him. I can't wait to update you all on all that God is directing us to do.

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10.

Making Papa Proud

We had always hoped that Graydon would share our love of racing. Go Dale Jr! So I had to snap a few pics of bubba watching the race. Here you go Papa!

"It wasn't me it was the dog!"

I have been trying to loosen up with Graydon. You know let him be a boy and not worry about him getting dirty and making messes. So this how today went....

While I was getting ready, Graydon helped himself to some toilet paper.

Then we went outside to play. Mommy put out some pretty fall decor, Graydon decided to pick Mommy some pretty fall decor...

As a special treat I thought it would be fun to make some rice krispies. Graydon loved eating his share and then mine. The fact that my "share" was the little pieces that he wiped on my leg didn't stop him from eating it off my leg either.

Finally it is time for a bath and jammies. Graydon picked out this specific pair. Not kidding. Hmm seems to fit.

Creamed Corn

We have recently discovered that Graydon likes creamed corn. Actually he loves it. After each bite he says, "umm" which means yum to the rest of us. I honestly think he could eat a whole can if we would let him. He would probably even bathe in it, oh wait he tried that already. Here are some pics...
I don't know if you can tell or not but his hair was covered in creamed corn!
